Broadway Joe

Joe Namath's Personal Website

As a huge football fan, it was a great experience to design and code this project. Joe wanted to create a website where he essentially housed his video blog and at the same time act as his personal social media hub. This project required a complete product from logo creation to social media branding.

Show Projects

Logo / Branding

Taking everything that the name Joe Namath stood for and portraying it in a logo was not an easy task. Not to mention, there had to be careful attention paid to his fan-base of both Alabama Crimson Tide and New York Jets fans.

Website

For Joe Namath I wanted to code and design a website that completely and accurately portrayed his story. Some of the cooler features are the multiple themes (Alabama Crimson Tide and New York Jets) that change when you click on the respective jerseys and the CafePress linked store with products that I designed for him.

Facebook Welcome Page

With a growing fan-base on Facebook, Joe wanted to have a default welcome tab that would let people know what Broadway Joe was all about. I coded and designed this tab for that purpose.

Twitter Background

We wanted to keep the Twitter background visible to the most eyes so it was designed for screen resolutions 1280px in width on up. As I designed Joe's background, I wanted to highlight the website url, other social media sites, and overall BroadwayJoe.tv branding.

Hip Hop At Lunch

Hip Hop Blog

I am from the south so working on a hip hop blog was second nature to me. Working with Mike Boyd Jr. was a pleasure and he knew exactly what he wanted from a functionality standpoint, however on the design side all he told me was, "I want it to be ice cream paint job… you know… cream on the inside, clean on the outside" (A reference to Dorrough Music - Ice Cream Paint Job).

Show Projects

Logo / Branding

Boyd wanted to keep the logo simple, clean, and easy to read. It was my task to create a logo that was legible yet easily associated with HipHopAtLunch.com and establish a brand.

Website

My whole inspiration for Hip Hop At Lunch was that Boyd wrote about up and coming artists, mainly mixtapes. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple and make everything around it resemble an old school tape recorder. I was responsible for all the development and design.

I wanted to optimize the background for 1280px width screen resolutions while providing branding and social media context for Hip Hop At Lunch.

Artist Section

For the longest time the Artists button on Hip Hop At Lunch was coming soon, but when we finally got a chance to work on it Boyd and I wanted to create a wikipedia of sorts for artists that weren't as well known or popular enough to have their own wikipedia. All of this with a twist - a social media twist.

New York Jets

Social Media Marketing Campaign

When VaynerMedia was working with the Jets, I did a wide array of social media projects ranging from giveaway micro-sites to designs for in-stadium signage. They had a strict style guide that I had to adhere to and in working with them, there were many iterative processes along the way.

Show Projects

In-Stadium Signage

When the Jets moved to the New Meadowlands, they wanted to add social media to their in-stadium signage. With various sized pylons and ad spaces around the stadium, it was my job to design the social media ads for Facebook and Twitter.
